D&C is a minor surgical procedure usually performed under anesthesia.

The cervix is dilated, and uterine tissue is removed using a curette or suction.

Clinical uses include:

Diagnosing abnormal uterine bleeding.

Treating incomplete miscarriage or retained products of conception.
